Japan Gets A Patch For Kingdom Hearts

A patch has been released for Kingdon Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance in Japan.

The thing is, getting to the update is not as straight forward as you would think. Unlike the Mario Kart 7 update, you can either scan a QR code on the KH 3D Japan site and then follow the link to the eshop or by specifically searching for Kingdom Hearts in the eshop.

The patch, which was announced at the most recent Nintendo Direct and released on May 25 in Japan, updates the game to version 1.1 and fixes various bugs. Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance releases in Europe on July 20 and in North America on July 31.

You can find the QR code for the update below.

METRO: Last Light For The WiiU After First Quarter 2013

Metro: Last Light

According to a statement by THQ's Huw Beynon, the Xbox 360 and PS3 Versions of METRO: Last Light will be coming within the first quarter of 2013, the WiiU version is a bit further down the line.

Here is the statement from Huw Beynon:
"We’ve been working on the Wii U version. At the moment we’re focusing on current-gen or existing platforms and PC, so it’s unlikely that the Wii U verson will come out at the same time as those formats."

It's a bit disappointing that this very promising title, which was originally announced at E3 2011, won't be making the WiiU launch party, but at least the extra time give THQ the chance to make the WiiU version shine brighter than its counter parts.

Zone Of Enders Finally Gets Another Entry. Could A WiiU Version Be In The Works?

Kojima Productions

Hideo Kojima is best known for his Metal Gear Solid series but his Zones Of Enders series also developed a massive following after it's two PS2 releases. The two ZoE games on the PS2 is regarded my many as some of the best mech-based action games available.

It's been almost ten years since the last game was released and fans have been waiting impatiently for the next entry. Kojima Productions has finally decided to end the torment, as they at long last formally announced that they’ve begun work on a new entry in the series.

With this announcement, we can only wonder if this will be a multi platform release and will the WiiU be inclouded?

Do you guys want to see a little mech action on your WiiU?

Best Buy Accepting Pre-orders For Smash Bros. 4

Best Buy Logo

Best Buy recently added placeholder pages for Super Smash Bros. 4 and LEGO City Stories to their website. Both of the games are listed at the very inviting price of $49.99.

Even thought you can't actually pre-order the games as yet, it's something that you should keep an eye on.

The information also further reinforces what Nintendo said about trying to keep WiiU games at the $49.99 price tag. This is great news when taking into account that most new games on other platforms go for $59.99.

Bink Video Codec Available On WiiU

BINK VIDEO LOGO

The Bink Video codec is very popular in the game industry for encoding pre-rendered sequences. Developers recognise it for it's efficiency at compressing and it's high quality video. It's has been used in the industry for years.

As a gamer you've no doubt come across quite a few games that use the popular video codec.

Thus, it's not surprising that RAD Game Tools has brought Bink Video codec to the WiiU.

The changelog on their site notes that Wii U support was first implemented on December 14, 2011, but was switched to “Wii-U SDK 2.04″ on May 5, 2012 just a couple of weeks ago (which is further indication of the existence of multiple different Wii U dev kits).

This news should be further encouragement to third-party developers to feel comfortable developing for WiiU, bringing the development process closer to what they are familiar with on other platforms.

Let The Zelda E3 Predictions Begin!

Master Sword
With the E3 Expo just around the corner the rumor mill and prediction train is at full blast. With that said, most people will say it's a no-brainer the Nintendo will announce a Zelda game in some form. Outside of that, nothing is really known for sure what Nintendo has in store for it's massive Zelda fan base.

What do you guys think Nintendo will have for it's Zelda fans this year. A brand new entry in the series or a remake (A Link To The Past anyone?)? For which platform, 3DS or WiiU. What visual style are you hoping for this time around (Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword or Wind Waker)?

Cloudberry Kingdom May Have WiiU Exclusive Content

Cloudberry Kingdom

Developer describes how the WiiU version of Cloudberry Kingdom could be different.

According to a post by one of the developers on reddit.com, the WiiU version of what's considered by many to be the hardest platformer, Cloudberry Kingdom, will include features that are not found in other versions of the game.

The ideas mostly revolve around the WiiU's unique tablet-like controller. Things like being able to use the touch screen of the controller to draw your character and accessories for it. Along with that you will also be able to draw your own flags to be used in competetive mode, similar to the emblem idea of Mario Kart DS and the town flag of Animal Crossing: Wild World.

The discussion is ongoing on reddit.com

GTA On WiiU

A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN

The Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series have been enjoying massive success on non-Nintendo platforms for many years. As of this day however, Nintendo fans have had make do without. This for most of the GTA series life, was as a result of Nintendo's strong refusal to have the extremely violent game franchise on it's platform.

Over the years Ninteno's position on this slowly changed and as a result Nintendo fans have GTA: Chinatown Wars to relish in. GTA: Chinatown Wars, as good as this DS title is, it's a far cry from it's console counter part, GTA4 that can be found on the XBox 360 and PS3.

We all know that even if Nintendo wanted a version of GTA4 on the Wii it was not technical possible. The Wii does not have the power for it. This is all about to change however, as Nintendo readies itself to launch the WiiU, which should be considerably more powerful than the XBox 360 and PS3 if reports are to be believed.

Rockstar is currently developing GTAV which should be getting it's unveiling at next month's E3 Expo on June 5th.

Do you guys think it's time to finally bring the full brutality of the GTA series onto Nintendo's new platform. How many of you guy's want to see this. I for sure do.

METRO: LAST LIGHT Trailer Gives New Insight On The Game

Anyone remember this little game that was revealed at E3 2011 as being in development for the WiiU.
THQ recently released a short film in support of the game and to give an idea of the look and feel the game will have.

What do you think? Are you looking forward to this one?

Animal Crossing For The Nintendo 3DS Is Coming! What Do You Want To See?

MAYOR OF IT ALL

We all know that Animal Crossing is on its way for the Nintendo 3DS. The release date is said to be august and for most of us that day can't come soon enough. Nintendo will be revealing everything you want to know about this title at the upcoming E3 event scheduled for June 5th.

The Animal Crossing series is know for it's simple yet addictive gameplay mechanics, simple "chores"  turned into the things we all obsess over doing. Two shakes of an apple tree and before you know it, we're all little gardeners and home decorators, plucking every single weed from the ground we find along the way.

This time around Nintendo seems to be shaking things up quite a bit, bringing a host of new features and gameplay into the mix. You can now take your little resident for a swim, you can slap on pants and skirts to cover up those chicken legs, put a garden bench in the middle your town to get in some relax time. Not to mention the big word going around the Internet that you will be the Mayor of your town this time around.

With all this shaking and baking that Nintendo is doing to Animal Crossing 3DS, what are your thoughts. What are some of the things you would like to see changed and what are some of the things you want to remain the same. What would you like added to the series.
